Basic Info
Name:Anastasia Singh | Τερψιχόρη | Terpsichore
Birthdate:03-18
Location:New York, United States
Bio
the human effect
» History: Most of Terpsichore’s life on Olympus was spent entertaining the gods and inspiring mortals with her dancing. She and Apollo had a child, Linos, who taught Orpheus and was murdered by his student Hercules when he reprimanded him. Along with her sisters, she helped bury Orpheus after his death, judged the contest between Apollo and Marsyas in Apollo’s favor, and blinded Thamyris for his hubris in saying he was more talented than the Muses. In some legends, she was the mother of the sirens as well.

» Personality: Some consider Terpsichore to be a woman of contradictions. Capable of being painfully refined and elegant, she often adopts the mannerisms of those she is around. She will go from being a down-to-earth fly girl at work to a graceful entertainer when with the others of her kind. She works hard to inspire those around her to express themselves artistically in whatever way she can.

She usually hides it, but she has an arrogance about her—she knows she is extremely talented and the best dancer there is and will not tolerate anyone saying otherwise. To do so would be to bring her rarely seen wrath down upon yourself, usually with career-ending consequences. She knows she is beautiful and is willing to use her body to get what she wants. That being said, she does not flaunt herself. She quietly seduces and uses subtle gestures and movements to get men (and women) under her sway. Her aim is not to gain power, but simply to influence people to be their most beautiful. Despite this, she is a genuinely happy and generous person who loves what she does and tries to foster that love in others. She is at her happiest when she is dancing.

She isn’t too fond of men who are arrogant and violent; she still mourns the loss and murder of her son, causing her to react angrily if men are violent around her. Terpsichore sees no contradiction in the fact that she and her sisters can be violent but men cannot be around her. She values intelligence and a love of the arts, choosing to spend her time with men who are focused more on creating rather than destroying.
